Description:  Visit three dozen solar installations within the City of Ypsilanti.  This year’s tour will start at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse located at 100 Market Place in Ypsilanti’s Historic Depot Town. SolarYpsi (SolarYpsi.org) founder, Dave Strenski, will be giving continuous solar presentations and answering any questions you might have. From there it’s a short walk or drive to see many different examples of solar installations from 1kW on the roof of a small house to 800kW in our local Highland Cemetery. Description: This tour includes two residential solar sites that are also used to charge electric cars, a combined retail/residential solar array (Exist Green), City Sprouts ( a community garden) and the Omaha Public Power District Omaha Center solar array. This is an open tour meaning that you can visit any or all the sites between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Four of the sites are in close proximity in Omaha and can be biked to and one is in Bellevue.  You can interact with the owners of the solar arrays to find out how and why they decided to go solar. Visit as many as you wish.
