Welcome to the DFW Solar Home Tour
Organized by the North Texas Renewable Energy Group NTREG
The 2nd annual DFW Solar Home Tour is a part of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) National Solar Tour. It offers the public the opportunity to tour innovative green homes and buildings and learn how homeowners and businesses can use renewable energy, energy efficiency, and other sustainable technologies.

What are tour hours?
The Solar Tour is a one-day event on Saturday, October 1. Generally speaking, tour hours are 10 am to 4pm, but times may vary at the discretion of the tour host, so check the site hours before you arrive. NTREG will post visiting hours for each self-guided host site along with map flag, directions, brief property description, and photos provided by the host site.
Does it cost anything to go on the DFW Solar Home Tour?
The self-guided tour is free of charge.
Solar Tour Etiquette
Tour hosts have opened their homes and business to share their renewable energy and conservation efforts with the public free of charge. Visitors are guests, please be courteous and polite. Tour hours are generally 10am -4pm. Please don’t arrive early or late. Tour hours may vary at some sites so it is a good idea to check the DFW Solar Tour website to confirm visiting hours before you get started. There are no public restroom facilities at tour sites. Practice the Golden Rule and everything will work out great.
What is the North Texas Renewable Energy Group (NTREG)?
The North Texas Renewable Energy Group is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit volunteer organization and the local chapter of the Texas Solar Energy Society (TXSES), the state chapter of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES). We encourage (but do not require) our members to take part in the State and National American Solar Energy Society memberships.
