(Preliminary) The tour will begin at the Ajijic, Mexico, centrally-located PV installation store owned and operated by J-Sun Mills, which is PV-powered. The tour will include 6-8 of the most interesting solar DHW and PV house conversions with systems from 1 to 5 kW, illustrating different methods of mounting the systems on the houses or on adjacent structures. Included will also be a PV-powered central-town store. While all PV systems are grid-connected, it will also include two houses with complete battery back-up systems for reliability. Included will be the Donald and Pia Aitken indigenous-design hacienda style PV-powered courtyard house, small office/casita and organic gardens with drip-irrigation, to illustrate the year-round comfort benefits and energy and water-saving benefits of melding indigenous south-facing house designs with additional features for natural heating, cooling, ventilation, water conservation and organic food production in the local climate. Maps and refreshments will be provided at the tour start-point, the e-SUN office in the Plaza La Floresta next to the junction of the Carraterra around Lake Chapala and the Libramento to Guadalajara.
